Obaka – Description
The album “Lambarena: Bach to Africa” which uses various African instruments in harmony or question-response type to marry the work of Bach and African traditional rhythms describes the Obakas as small wooden percussion beams.

Obaka – Sound
The obakas are used to complement the hand clapping in this traditional music and dance from a Bouiti-Apindji ritual ceremony from Gabon extracted from one part of the 6th track Bombé, from the album “Lambarena: Bach to Africa”. This traditional part of the track was arranged by Gabonese composer and traditional African music specialist Pierre Akendengué.
